Are your digital marketing numbers below the Mendoza line?
Are you overwhelmed with data to the point where the numbers just don’t make sense anymore?
As with every other part of life, there’s such a thing as doing too much. Being data-obsessed won’t get you as far as being data-driven.
So what’s the difference?
First of all, there is such a thing as trying to analyze too many numbers. Website traffic, cost per lead, conversion rates, click-through rate; all those measurable metrics can be overwhelming, but the trick is to pick out what’s important and disregard the rest…sort of.
Website traffic is important, sure, but are visitors to your site spending significant time there? Are they spending money? Are they returning visitors? Figure out what you need to know to tweak your website and record data relating to it! Once you know what kind of things to look for, it’s a lot easier to collect data pertinent to those areas.
Practice doesn’t make perfect; perfect practice does. The same can be said about collecting data. Collecting it won’t make you successful on it’s own, but being meticulous about what you collect and why you collect it is the key to unlocking your potential.
